Hidan and Ino are two characters from the anime/manga series Naruto. Hidan is a member of the villainous group Akatsuki and Ino is young female ninja from Konoha. The two of them are worlds apart and barely have any interaction in the story, but I have plenty of reasons to be interested in their possible relationship.

Spoilers for all of the Naruto manga scanlated so far follow!

When Hidan first appeared in the manga, I was instantly hooked. I had stopped downloading Naruto because I had lost interest. By chance I decided to start back up again (mainly because Gantz when on hiatus) and the first chapter I downloaded after my long break from the series was Hidan's first appearance. And so, I was back to reading Naruto regularly. My first instinct was to pair him with someone, because I always have to pair my favorite characters up. It just so happened that the first major female character he came into contact with was Ino, a character I had always been interested in but wanted to see more from. And so, I decided they would be interesting together.

I realize that Hidan is now out of the picture and nothing will come of them, but the possibilities are endless in AU (Alternate Universe) fanfiction, or even the possible future (if someone ever digs him up XD). And these possibilities exist because Ino has a connection to Hidan, albeit a negative one. She hates him because he killed her sensei. She wants revenge. This gives way to plenty of scenarios in which the two of them could have contact. And let's face it, how many pairings are built around two characters who hate each other? A lot. Hidan/Ino is no exception.
