Közi is one of the co-founders of Malice Mizer. At an early age, his parents forced the piano upon him, however, he wasn't very good at it. He hadn't planed on becoming a musician, but later, in high school, he saw a friend play the electric guitar, and decided right there that he was going to play the electric guitar in a band. He learned bass at first because of two reasons, one being that they would have more instruments in his friend's band if he learned it, and two being that it makes it easier if you can play both the guitar and the bass. The band didn't last long due to his high-school dropping out. He wasn't good at school, so he was hell-bent on becoming a pro musician in Tokyo.
Közi was surprised to see Tokyo as big as it was, because Niigata
is fairly small. He knew no one except for one person who he ended up
sharing a car with, because neither of them had any money for an apartment
or house. He went through job after job until he obtained a job at a
karaoke bar. It was in this bar that fate struck him and he met Mana. He
was intrigued by Mana's uniqueness. His style and personality were his
own, and Közi had been looking to find his own style at the time. Közi
and Mana quickly became friends, largely influenced by Mana's horror movie
collection. ^_^. The two began to play music together and started a small
band, however, it did not last. (Seems to be a popular trend before the
members met each other.)
Later, Mana and Közi decided to form Malice Mizer. Közi was intrigued by
how Mana didn't want their guitars to sound like guitars, more like more
elegant instruments.
As a child, Közi fancied being showy and
flashy, but became much more calm and loner-like as he grew up. He and
Mana were the key song-writers for Malice Mizer, and Közi loved playing
the odd instruments, such as the accordion. He mainly did back-up vocals,
but was actually the lead vocalist in "Color Me Blood
Red."
Like most of the others, after Malice Mizer disbanded,
he went on to another band... 'Band called "Eve of Destiny." Has
a bunch of people I've never heard of... Haruhiko Ash on vocals... Közi
on guitar and programming, and another guy, named Mizz who does back-up
programming. I hear that the band is an industrial/visual-kei mix type
band. Közi is probably the only one aside from Gackt that I'll delve into
the personal life of, due mainly to the lack of decent information on him
as far as Malice Mizer goes. He loves his two cats, Zaku and Raka dearly,
and digs painting. He loves to paint, and he says he's pretty good at it.
He named his guitar "Akauzu-kun." In my travels on the internet,
I've found some rather pricey look-alikes. Like Mana, he has a certain
routine each morning, although his is more... strange. It consists of
jumping on his bed and shouting "IT'S MORNING!" out the window
to his neighbors, and then sings. ^________^
Apparently, he likes eyeballs. He has rather an obsession with them... If
you notice his videos and stuff, they're full of eyeballs. O_o;;
