Gackt
Vocal + Piano
Birthplace: Okinawa, JapanBlood Type: A Birthday: July 4 Height: 178 cm Weight: 59 kg General Information: Gackt's musical experience began on the piano at the age of
three when his parents forced him to learn it. He says he didn't like
playing the piano, but he really had no choice but to learn it, because
his parents forced him into it.
As a child, in his early phase of life, he was driven crazy and put into a mental hospital after he was drawn to the see and revived. He claims to this day that he is psychic and that he can communicate with ghosts. When he was young, Gackt wanted to be the maestro of an orchestra, and learned how to play virtually any brass instrument you could think of. He was very competitive while playing and wanted to be the best. He hated his father more than anything, but when he saw him playing the trumpet, he thought, "He's good." But at that moment, he immediately wanted to be better than his father, so he mastered the horn and a few other instruments. He practiced often and mastered difficult songs with ease, but later had to quit playing brass instruments due to the fact that his teeth were damaged from mouthpieces. He hung out with his friends after school, often falling asleep immediately after arriving home. He woke up early every morning to go to the music room at school, and strived to learn how to do everything his friends could do on the piano. As time went on, he found himself becoming more fond of vocals and percussion since he couldn't play instruments that used a mouthpiece. He practiced hard on drums for a long time each day, usually awaking at about 5AM each morning. He hated it if someone was better than he was. As with his other instruments, he was very competitive.
Gackt is one who feels the need to be in a little bit of everything. If he is deeply involved in something, he is usually easily strung into it, and very into it, so he can't stop at the drop of a hat. He says that this is due mostly to the fact that he wants to be on top. Not the best, just on top. He said that the group from Malice Mizer are seldom the same in terms of competitiveness.. However, he said that he won't give up without first trying, because he believes he can achieve anything no matter what. If he says something, he'll do it, and if he doesn't want to, he'll make himself do it. Gackt says the members of Malice Mizer told him that they would never succeed, but he believed that since each member had their own characteristics that were unique to them, that they could pull anything off. They "balanced" each other. He said that when he joined Malice Mizer, he was drawn to each member. They were lacking characteristics that he had, but he was attracted to them by their own characteristics. He felt that he was doing something that no one else can do. He said that he felt he was bringing balance to the group. He never wanted to imitate anyone, because no matter how hard you try, you'll never be as good as the actual thing. He hated Led Zeppelin, but was very moved by them. Even though he hated the singers voice and the whole sound, he was moved. He couldn't understand the English lyrics, but yet, he was moved. (Kooky) Gackt wanted to create songs that struck people in the way that Stairway to Heaven did. In London, the song was powerful enough to move people to suicide, and he wanted a similar, just less-deadly effect. Gackt is easily interested in small, trivial things. He
gave an example of a time they were shooting a video in France, and he
went into his hotel room. He checked out all the drawers and under the
bed, examining everything he found. Apparently he just likes to know
what's in his room. ^_^ As a child, Gackt experienced a near-death drowning incident, and since then claims to have a sixth sense, namely psychic abilities. He says that when he was little, he had his father sit him in his lap while he was driving, and after his near-death experience, he recalled a moment of unexplainable ecstasy one feels while driving at high speeds, and since then drives high-speed on empty roads.
